Proximity to Auckland Boat Show accross the road.
Yes have stayed whenever visiting the boat show and this will be the last visit. Has definitely deteriorated and is no longer luxury accommodation.
Handy to bus to the city for travellers who do not want to drive into the city. Near Cromwell Park with a beautiful view but staff did not point this out to us found by chance. We were put at back and it was very peaceful could open door over looking the pool.
Strange you ask what we did not like but do not complain are we speaking the same language? Only one saucepan in kitchen no frypan very poorly equiped for those who want to cook for themselves if they are staying a few days. Staff did not know the nearest supermarket sent us to near freeway when there was one a few steps to the left. Staff were friendly just think they did not know the area very well.
That it was easy to get to from the airport, Newmarket, and Mt Smart.
That there were no curtains on the penthouse roof, and the spa was actually a spa bath.
The room was very comfortable with good facilities. Although the lodge was busy, we didn't experience any disturbance from other guests. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thanks.
Would have liked another bedside table so we each had somewhere to put our coffee. We have sky at home and found tv channels limited.
Location is the only plus for this hotel
No tv remote in room, no teabags and only very basic furnishings. Bed soft and squishy and not at all comfortable. Lots of renovation needs to be done at this place to bring it up to scratch.
The staff were very friendly on arrival & very helpful, it was clean
The staff could of offered the complimentry paper at check in
The staff were extremely accomodating and helpful. I had made a booking error online and they went out of their way to find more suitable rooms for our group at a very reasonable rate.
No lids on rubbish bins. There was a bit of an ant problem and maintenance not really up to date.
Very friendly obliging staff, conditions of room need attention, towels were not changed on one day, utensils like no frying pan, Phone was replaced, but some how never worked, loss of contact to improve business, room was cold had no heater to warm room, in general
I like the Hotel, but small points as mentioned needs serious attention, the wonderful staff , will keep me coming back.
The Lodge is looking old and could do with renovation.
The beds were very comfortable, The room was a great size
The room was not that great for young children to sleep in as the sky dome made it hard to get them to sleep during the day and also early evening. The spokes on the roof may also have been unsettling for them. I would suggest also adults would find the light coming through the dome at night effected their sleep. Some form of blind perhaps?
I liked the lay-out of the Hotel and the room had a point of difference with the sky-light windows.
The double bed was old, soft and uncomfortable. We found a couple of live bed bugs in the room.
The bed was comfortable & the shower worked well, when I signed out in the morning the repectionist was very efficient and when I asked for directions to a good coffee shop she explained where I could get a real expresso coffee & gave me a discount card, very nice gesture, however the Coffee shop was not open, I guess not the entirely her fault but I would expect when she gave advice that she would be more correct in future
Some of the curtains were broken, the room heater could not work as the power plug had been removed & as a result the room was cold, the towel rail and many tiles in the bathroom were broken & had clearly been broken for quite some time. The room & bathroom were full of old cobwebs albeit on or near the ceiling but certainly detracted from the look of the place Also the instant coffee provided was the worst that I have ever tasted to the point where I spat it out in the sink. I certainly expected far better from their own description of the place The traffic was quite noisy for Sunday morning, so I dread to think what it would be like weekdays
Convenience for purpose of visit, Courteous staff on checking in and out.
Easy location to find and to get to conference. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Shower was too small. Dark access to front door. Television reception and lack of programming was poor.
Location close to Alexander Park Raceway, Showgrounds and Logan Campbell Center. Good parking. Service was good, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean.
Would have liked to have at least one comfy chair in the room. The showers are small and the water flow too light and fluffy!
